Alabama has secured $203 million for the first budget period of a five-year grant through the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program, part of a historic $50 billion federal investment authorized by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Alabama’s RHT Program prioritizes transformation and sustainability, using targeted investments to enable new models of care and workforce pipelines to serve rural citizens. The program’s goal is providing healthcare transformation through healthier populations, stronger workforce and local economic resilience.
What happens next?
Year 1 initiative application periods are now closed.
Applications will reopen for Year 2 and interested applicants will have a chance to apply or reapply.
